Take Back the tap

Take Back the Tap is a campaign to ban the sale of bottled water on college campuses. At Dickinson, it was started by EarthNow, Dickinson's environmental activism group, in spring of 2011. After countless conversations with administrators and students to rally support, a resolution was passed through student senate to phase-out the sale of bottled water on campus. A dollar tax on bottled water was implemented as well as the installation of water bottle filling stations.

Reinvest Dickinson

Reinvest Dickinson began after a group of Dickinsonians went to see a Do the Math presentation given by Bill McKibben who made a call to student activists to push their institutions to divest from fossil fuels. The Dickinson campaign was presented to the board of trustees as well as the student senate. An investment task force was created to analyze the potential for divestment.
